FAQ|Hostgator Coupon 2012

A frequently-asked question:

I am a newbie at web design, and working on building some small personal websites. I am building a site for a friend who already has an email account with 1&1 internet services. I am using a separate hosting service, and I am wondering if it is best to leave their email with 1&1 or move it when I redirect the domain. Is it usually better to have the email hosted at the same place as the website itself instead of through the domain registrar, or does this matter?

Answer|Hostgator Coupon 2012Expert Answer: We are here for you. It’s a nice idea if your email is hosted the same as where your website is hosted. You can host your email at your web hosting company. You can easily create and manage your emails accounts through Cpanel.

Cpanel is a Unix based web hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a web site including your emails. You are given a cpanel account after you signed up in a web hosting service provider where you want to host your websites. The best web hosting provider will give you an intuitive cpanel area where you can easily navigate and manage your websites, databases, email accounts, domains, website files and the like. But which is the best web hosting provider?

It’s usually best to not do anything with the registrar but register the domain. Hosting should be done with another company – all hosting including email.

(It’s a matter of being held hostage if you want to move something.)

You can set the emails to use the mailservers at the domain hosting or at the website hosting service. Either will work but I prefer to keep it with the website hosting as cPanel is a great place to administer email addys.
